ELEVATING OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH

RECONCILIATION

Elevate believes that God is still in the business of making all things new.

This includes the lives of individuals that have been destroyed by any of the addictions. A scripture we hold tight to is 2nd Corinthians 5:18-19- “God was RECONCILING the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.” To assist with recovery, Elevate has programs in place to help people overcome those addictions and experience reconciliation with God, self, and others. Please join us.

EDUCATION

Elevate believes education is one of the key components in lifting someone out of poverty.

Many of the educational programs at Elevate focus on Kindergarten through second grade. This is because Elevate believes it is imperative to make sure every student is reading at their grade level or beyond by 2nd grade. Elevate offers a Kindergarten after-school program and a Kindergarten through 2nd grade summer-camp to assist students who are falling behind.

Elevate has a partnership with William S. Sandel Elementary, a local Title 1 school.

Elevate offers a Kindergarten after school program throughout the academic year for Sandel’s students.

This program is designed to assist students with their homework and provide students with reading opportunities. The goal is for students to be reading at their grade level or above.

Elevate offers a Kindergarten through 2nd grade program throughout the summer.

Students in this program are selected by their teachers because they are not reading their current grade level. Students receive reading assistance, math assistance, breakfast and lunch, and may participate in various enrichment activities.

Elevate Summer Camp is for any student, Kindergarten through 5th grade.

Students participating in this camp participate in enrichment activities, reading activities, and eat breakfast and lunch.

ELEVATING OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH

GARDENS

Elevate has a community garden with 5 different purposes

Statistics show that a community garden can have many positive effects on a community. This is why Elevate took on the task of building a community garden. Not only were we able to take a dilapidated area of land and make it beautiful, but we made it a place where members of the community can safely gather.

The purpose of Elevate's Community Garden is five-fold;

Community

  • Increase sense of community ownership and stewardship
  • Build community leaders
  • Provide a community hub, welcoming and serving all individuals

Health

  • Exposure to green space reduces stress
  • Studies show eating locally produced food reduces asthma rates
  • Studies show eating produce decreases the risk of many chronic diseases

Nutrition

  • Provide access to healthy eating options
  • Bring awareness to the nutritional benefits of whole, locally-sourced food

Education

  • Teach gardening techniques
  • Teach nutrition lessons
  • Teach cooking classes
  • Provides experiential learning opportunities

Employment

  • Provide youth with employment opportunities, teaching business principles, job and life skills
  • Create unique employment opportunities
